As the end of the year approaches, so does the deadline to use your insurance benefits! Depending on your insurance policy, you may have certain benefits that will expire after the new year. It’s a good idea to check with your human resources department or insurance company to see the details of your particular plan. Also, remember to use the balance on your HSA card before it’s gone! Now is a great time to take advantage of the 15% off of all retail items special we have going in our office through the end of December.
DOES MY INSURANCE COVER PODIATRIC CARE?
Most health insurance policies cover the cost of podiatric care that is considered medically necessary, but most policies do require a co-payment or have co-insurance. Most podiatric care is considered medically necessary, as all of our recommendations are made with patient health, comfort, and well-being in mind. However, if your course of treatment is not fully covered by insurance or is not deemed “medically necessary” we will do our best to let you know during your consultation so you can make an informed decision before proceeding with treatment.
Some policies require that you meet your deductible, or a minimum dollar amount before your benefits will kick in. Deductibles often reset on January 1st, so if you have met your deductible and are still needing treatment, now is an ideal time to receive care to avoid having to begin paying toward your deductible again after the new year.

Whether you need an exam for a possible broken bone or injury, a surgical consultation, or simply a checkup, we would be happy to schedule you an appointment to help you get the care you need.
